Preceded by a historic earthquake and followed by hurricane Irene, the August IFMA Chesapeake meeting went off without a hitch at the Tower Federal Credit Union headquarters in Laurel, MD.A number of guests and new members were welcomed, and some great networking took place.A buffet of Italian food from Ledo’s was enjoyed by all, along with delicious desserts, including those hard to resist black bottom brownies.
Following the networking session, two chapter gold sponsors, Don Holland, VP Marketing/Sales at Advant-Edge, along with Josh Koziol, Greening Facilitator for Reduction In Motion, gave a joint presentation on how to integrate a customized recycling program into your facility.The presentation, “Rethinking Your Wastestreams and Avoiding Landfills” was both insightful and informative, and well received by all attendees.These sustainable waste management programs cut trash bills, increase recycling and reduce overall environmental impact relative to commercial and corporate waste.
