The Chesapeake Chapter of IFMA celebrated its annual golf outing on September 21, 2009 at the Hunt Valley Country Club in bucolic Phoenix Maryland.  Attendance this year set a new IFMA Chesapeake golf record, with 180 players filling the beautiful 27 hole course to capacity, thanks to the terrific efforts of the golf committee.

Despite a late start due to a dense early morning fog that delayed an event prior to ours, all players remained positive and patient as the fog burned off and revealed an almost perfect early Autumn afternoon.  Players eagerly awaited the start and wasted no time hustling to the course once the starter gave his notice.

This year’s event featured a number of perennial player and foursome stand-bys, as well as a significant number of new sponsors and guests, who we hope will be joining our ranks soon as members.  Prizes were awarded for 1^st place on each of the 3 – 18 hole combinations, longest drives and closest to the pins. No winners for the hole in one contests, and nobody sank the putt in the putting contest, but we all had a great time in the beautiful sunshine and with our friends and colleagues.
